BACK-TO-SCHOOL JITTERS

When I was young (who sang it?), I’d get the back-to-school jitters.

As kids prepare to go back to school, no doubt, there are many also experiencing back-to-school jitters.

But I wasn’t afraid to go to school because I was Catholic. I was worried about which teacher I’d get because nuns, for lack of a better word, were a “terrifying” bunch. They were.

Anyway, unlike me, with the first day of school just around the corner, there will be children afraid to go to school because they are Jewish.

Hopefully, teachers will be on the ball.

SORRY, PARDON?

I just happened to watch federal ministers Sean Fraser, Randy Boissonnault and Marc Miller talking to reporters recently.

We have Fraser, the failed former immigration minister and now failing housing minister.

Then there is Boissonnault, who is now in a serious conflict of interest scandal over contracts to a company he has a stake in, for which he will likely never face any consequences. He simply whines and plays the victim.

Lastly, we have Miller, who simply continues to give his usual non-answers. Why should we care about anything these three have to say?

I imagine normal Canada being like Justin Trudeau against Gladys Kravitz, the neighbour from Bewitched. She would peek out her window and see Trudeau in black face wearing all his costumes and scandals, but still can’t believe he is the Prime Minister.

No, you are not insane, far from it, Gladys, you should run for the GKP (Gladys Kravitz Party). What to you think, Abner?

HAHN HAS TO GO

Re: Hahn doubles down on hurtful rants, editorial, Aug. 28

Canadian Union of Public Employees National VP Fred Hahn has publicly professed, many times, anti-Israel views and support for Israel’s foes.

Hahn is either antisemitic or a fool. Perhaps both. But either way, it should be grounds for dismissal. I mean, would you want this guy negotiating contracts for you?
