Warning: Spoilers from the season finale of Season 21 of “The Bachelorette.”

Jenn Tran got engaged to frontrunner Devin Strader in the Season 21 finale of “The Bachelorette,” but what came next in their relationship was complicated and emotional.

The final episode of Jenn’s season, which aired Sept. 3, began with the 26-year-old describing her connections with her two remaining men — Devin and Marcus Shoberg.

Here’s what happened between Jenn and Devin, and if they’re still together now.

What happened in the ‘Bachelorette’ finale?

The last 2 suitors meet Jenn’s family

At the start of the finale, Jenn said she was in love with both men and needed to see how they interacted with her family before making her choice.

The remaining suitors’ meetings with Jenn’s family in Hawaii didn’t ease her fears.

After meeting Devin, Jenn’s mother was skeptical, saying she thought she needed more time. Her brother, James Tran, was concerned she would continue her pattern of pursuing emotionally unavailable men.

Their meetings with Marcus raised more red flags. James realized Marcus “wasn’t there yet” with his feelings. Jenn’s mom felt the same about Marcus. “He’s not ready yet,” she said.

Jenn breaks up with Marcus

Jenn’s final dates gave her the confirmation she needed that Devin was the right pick.

While she and Devin ended their date in a good place, Jenn and Marcus struggled. Marcus did tell Jenn he loved her, but their dynamic remained uneasy. The day after their date, he couldn’t “live up to” Jenn’s expectations.

“I’m not giving you what you need,” he said through tears.

Jenn said she was “done” from here — and seemed to say she was done with the pattern that drew her to emotionally unavailable men. “I’m finally letting go of the part of me that I’ve been holding on to for so long,” she said.

She knew what she wanted from her future wasn’t “this feeling,” but rather someone who gave as much as she did.

“I opened my heart to you every second that I got and maybe I got lost in it,” she said.

Jenn decides to propose to Devin

With one man left, Jenn still wasn’t clear on her decision. “I don’t know what to do,” she said to the camera.

Devin, meanwhile, was more confident. “I’ve never been more excited,” he said, looking at a ring.

Then, Jenn decided to make a major change from the show’s format.

“I’m not going to let Devin propose to me. I’m going to propose to Devin. I want him to know I’m going to fight for him every day and choose him every day,” she told host Jesse Palmer.

Cut to the “After the Final Rose” live show, where Jesse revealed the show wouldn’t air the proposal until after Jenn explained what happened next.

So, what happened next?

What happened between Devin and Jenn?

Jenn struggled to fight back tears as she recounted what came next in her relationship with Devin.

“It’s been a really hard couple of months,” she said.

The proposal was the “happiest day” of her life. After Hawaii, things were “different” between them, he said. After two months of pulling away, Devin broke the engagement off over the phone.

“He basically said he didn’t love me anymore … he said something had been off. Since the second he proposed, he regretted getting engaged,” she said.

Jenn didn’t understand how he went from “broad proclamations of love” to “denying ever being in love.”

She tried to sympathize at first, she said, thinking his change of heart might have had to do with acclimating back to real life. “We can just date,” she said she told Devin. “I want a life with you, I don’t need a ring on my finger.”

But Devin was “checked out.”

“He didn’t want to fight for the relationship,” she said.

According to Jenn, they last spoke in July and he has been “avoidant” ever since. They had their first encounter at the “After the Final Rose” special.

Finally together again, Jenn confronted Devin on various accounts. For one, she saw Devin follow Maria Georgas, who turned down the role of “Bachelorette” before Jenn was named, on Instagram.

“I can’t excuse the Instagram follow. I know how much that hurt you,” he said. “I’m not here to tell you you can’t feel the way you feel. Obviously, I failed you. There’s nothing I can say other than that. Everything I felt for you was real.”

She also confronted him for posting about the show with enthusiasm. “I am heartbroken every Monday night watching the lies that you said to me on TV,” she said. Devin denied they were lies.

Jesse intervened to ask Devin “what happened” to make their relationship different.

“When we left the show I had a lot of doubts and regretfully and sadly I suppressed those feelings. One thing you can say here is that I have been honest with you,” she says.

Jenn took issue with the timing of how he expressed those doubts.

“You hid all of this from me. For two months I was pouring everything into you while you hid all of these feelings of doubt and made me feel even more in love with you and try to fight for a relationship that was out the door half the time,” she said.

Devin didn’t deny her statements. “I was regretfully late on letting you know,” he said, eliciting laughter from the audience.

Jenn got applause when she clapped back at Devin for saying he knew how she felt.

“I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you. I wanted to start a family with you. You didn’t see those things.”

When asked if there’s anything he wanted Jenn to know, Devin said, “The truth.”

“I watched this beautiful girl grow and flourish into this amazing woman on her own. It took none of us on the show to make you that person. It was amazing to watch you flourish into who you were. I found myself falling short of those expectations in the real world,” he said. “I found myself not being able to live up to the things that you need and you deserve.”

He went on to say, “I watched myself contribute to your regression and that hurt me,” he said. “I felt myself forcing you to compromise to be happy… You’ve done nothing wrong.”

The finale ended with Jesse apologizing to Jenn and giving her a pep talk.

“I can confidently say that even though you may not have found the great love you were looking for yet, you also showed all of us what a strong and powerful woman is,” he said.

The finale ended with a bittersweet proposal

When Jesse asked if they should play the proposal, Jenn smiled through tears. “Do I have a choice?” she asked.

In short, no: The proposal played. In it, Jenn told Devin she was going to “fight for him every day” and that she didn’t want to live without him. Devin proposed back.

But the sunny Hawaiian scene cut to a somber one during the “After the Final Rose” special.

Jenn said she was “proud” of the woman on the screen who “chose a man at the time who was giving her everything she ever wanted.”

“I do not regret proposing to that man on there. But that man doesn’t exist anymore. The truth of the matter is, I’m still that same woman,” she said.

Devin “left her with nothing,” but she’s confident another man will step up.

Jenn had the final words of the evening. “I hope you learn the weight of your words matter,” she said, in part.
