Brampton city officials are calling on artists to submit an expression of interest, or EOI, for a new Terry Fox Memorial in Chinguacousy Park.

The call came on Wednesday, the 44th anniversary of Terry Fox’s historic visit to Brampton on July 24, 1980, during his Marathon of Hope.
The successful artist will be chosen to design, fabricate and install a memorial commemorating the 45th anniversary of his journey, which will be unveiled in the fall of 2025.
The new Terry Fox memorial will be located in Chinguacousy Park’s walking trail and close to the entrance of Terry Fox Stadium.
The Terry Fox memorial selection will be a two-stage national competition open to professional artists based in Canada beginning with an EOI followed by a Request for Proposals (RFP) from a shortlist of qualified artists.
Shortlisted artists will be notified in writing and invited to develop a design proposal for which they will receive $1,500 as compensation for their work.
