Fish Randomly Falls from the Sky, Shattering a Couple’s Car Windshield: ‘We Were Like Holy Crap’

Have you ever seen a fish fall from the sky?
A Jersey Shore couple was left “baffled” on July 23 when a bluefish suddenly plopped on top of their Tesla, according to local ABC affiliate WPVI-TV and Asbury Park Press.
Cynthia and Jeff Levine only realized something had happened after their parked Tesla began making honking noises.
“We were like holy crap look at this,” Cynthia said, per WPVI-TV. She then recalled seeing what looked like “fish scales and blood on the windshield” of the car.
The couple then looked at their dashcam footage, and were surprised to see a 1 lb. bluefish fall from the sky, according to NBC affiliate WNBC-TV.
The footage reportedly showed the fish crashing into the Tesla’s windshield before bouncing into the couple’s garage.
The fish appeared to have talon marks in its skin when the couple inspected it, according to Asbury Park Press.

Now, the Levines think they know where the fish may have come from: a bird in flight.
“That bird must have been pretty high up when it dropped it for it to build up that kind of force to break the windshield. Because the windshield was shattered,” said Jeff, per WNBC-TV. “You can’t even make something up that crazy.”
The Levines also believe they may be familiar with the bird that might be responsible for dropping the fish, according to WPVI-TV.
“We think it was probably the eagle,” Cynthia said, noting that they “have an eagle’s nest in our backyard.”
The Tesla is reportedly being repaired, but Jeff hopes future falling fish will avoid his windshield.
“I lowered my deductibles, so if any birds are listening, please don’t drop it here because I’m covered now,” he told WPVI-TV.
