Heidi Klum reveals her ‘outerworldly’ 2024 Halloween costume

The wait is finally over!
Heidi Klum has officially unveiled her 2024 Halloween costume and it’s just as elaborate as the ones before.
The supermodel arrived to her annual Halloween party, which she originally kicked off in 2000, dressed as E.T., the main character in Steven Spielberg’s beloved 1982 movie of the same name.
The costume is from the moment the friendly extra-terrestrial dresses in human clothes. Klum’s eyes poke out of the neck, meaning the head structure sits atop Klum’s own head.
Her husband, Tom Kaulitz, also was E.T – but without the hat, scarf and lipstick.
Another nod to the movie? Klum’s finger bent the same way as E.T.’s did in the movie, but didn’t appear to glow.
The “America’s Got Talent” judge previously teased this year’s costume in an early October interview with TODAY.com.
“It will be outerworldly,” she said at the time. “And there will be a lot of prosthetics again. I’m claustrophobic just thinking about it.”
One thing that Klum does not want to happen when she’s in her extravagant looks is “die,” she said half-joking, elaborating on the minor discomfort she’s experienced with past costumes.
“Most of the time I can’t hear a thing. Or when I was a worm, I had no arms. I couldn’t hold anything.”
Prior to unveiling her costume, she had teased her look on Instagram, sharing a handful of videos and photos.
“We have begun,” Klum said in her Instagram, before asking prosthetic designer Mike Marino how much longer. His response: six more hours.
As she continued to get ready, she also showed off what appeared to be a large toe that was part of her costume.
People in the Instagram comments section guessed it could be E.T., The Thing from “Fantastic Four,” Godzilla or a Ninja Turtle.
She also shared another video, showing off what appeared to be a headpiece.
It’s known that the supermodel is a big fan of the spooky holiday and her yearly party. Even when the pandemic put a pause on her celebrations, she still found a way to create an over-the-top film to show off her costumes.
Preparations for her costume began over a month ago.
On Sept. 30, she shared a preview but noted that she was keeping the look “under wraps.”
She continued to tease her outfit weeks later by sharing a photo of her in a nude colored jumpsuit.
“There’s a clue here but I just can’t put my finger on it…” she wrote on Oct. 7.
In another tease, she shared a collage of her previous Halloween costumes, captioning the video: “To all the costumes I’ve loved before … you’ll never guess what this year has in store … see you at #HeidiHalloween 2024.”
Last year, Klum left her attendees in awe as she transformed into a peacock, complete with dancers as her tail feathers and husband Tom Kaulitz as an egg.
At the 2023 red carpet, Klum told TODAY.com she wanted the look to be collaborative.
“I was thinking about what I could be, I wanted to have 20 different people become one,” she said, sharing she reached out to Cirque Du Soleil for help with the costume and worked together on the poses.
