No matter how many times Kane Brown belts out the same hits, he’ll never tire of singing his wife’s praises.
On the verge of becoming a star nearly a decade ago, the country singer crossed paths with the woman who would become his wife, the mother of his children, and, occasionally, his singing partner.
Her name is Katelyn Jae Brown, and we have everything you need to get to know her better below.
She met her future husband in 2015
Katelyn met Kane in Florida at his very first concert in 2015. A whole year would pass, however, before they would actually link up.
“I thought she was adorable, and I kept looking at her all night,” the singer and former contestant on “The X Factor” told Radio.com in 2020 about their second meeting. “So, I asked her to come to Nashville. Like, the next day, I flew her down and we just hit it off, and she never left!”
She knew he was the one on their first date
It didn’t take long for Katelyn to realize Kane would play an important role in her life.
“I knew (on) the first date,” Katelyn explained during an interview on Katie Neal’s podcast, “Katie & Company.” “I just remember having our first official date, and he was talking. I wasn’t really listening to anything he was saying. In my mind I was thinking, ‘Holy crap, I’m going to marry him.’ Something just felt inside of me that like, ‘This is my person.’”
Months after that first date, Kane took to Facebook to let the world know just how important she was to him.
“Luckily I found my other half,” the heartthrob wrote. “I know a lot of people might get mad I’m in a relationship but if your a true fan u won’t. She keeps me Sane, she keeps me happy she’s my girl. ❤️ God Bless.”
She was proposed to on Easter Sunday 2017
By spring of 2017, Kane was ready to pop the question. His plan was to hide the ring under her bed and have a traditional, rose petal-filled engagement the next day. But things didn’t go as planned.
“Kane’s a very spontaneous person,” Katelyn mentioned in the “Katie & Company” interview. “When he has a feeling or he knows (something), he goes for it.”
So, at 3 a.m. on Easter Sunday, shortly after finishing a tour, the singer-songwriter impulsively pulled the ring out of his pocket and proposed while a scary movie played in the background.
“‘Amityville Horror’ happened to be on TV,” he recalled during an appearance on MTV’s “Ridiculousness.”
She said yes, and as for the frightful setting, Kane defended himself by saying, “What went through my mind, it was my mom’s favorite movie, so it was kind of romantic.”
They were married in a private ceremony held in Franklin, Tennessee, on Oct. 12, 2018.
She earned her undergraduate degree in 2019
In May of 2019, Katelyn graduated from Berklee College of Music’s Online Business program.
“Today was one day I will never forget,” she told her friends and followers on Instagram. “I’m not going to write anything too sappy, but finishing my education was the most rewarding thing I have done for myself thus far. If you are thinking whether or not your going to get your degree or if you can get through the years of college … DO IT ! This was the best decision of my life !!”
She shares three children with the singer
Katelyn and Kane started their family one year after swapping vows.
On Oct. 29, 2019, the couple welcomed daughter Kingsley Rose to the world. In an announcement on Instagram, the new mom wrote that she was “obsessed with my little family” and that both she and her husband were “absolutely in love” with their little girl.
Kingsley became a big sister on Dec. 31, 2021, when the family welcomed daughter Kodi Jane. “Blessed with another beautiful angel,” Katelyn shared on Instagram.
The most recent addition to the Brown household came on June 18, 2024, with the birth son Krewe Allen.
In honor of Mother’s Day, Kane raved on Instagram about his wife, writing, “Happy Mother’s Day to my dream wife, dream mother of my children and just all around sweetest most amazing person I’ve ever met ❤️ you deserve the world and more and the kiddos and I love u more than you can imagine.”
She sang with her husband on ‘Thank God’
Kane may be the best-known singer in the family, but he’s not the only one who can hit all the right notes.
Prior to her relationship with the “Heaven” artist, Katelyn was an aspiring singer in her own right. Fans were treated to her talent in 2022, when she sang on one of Kane’s biggest hits, “Thank God.”
The duet, in which the couple sings, “So, thank God/ I get to wake up by your side,” won video of the year at the 2023 CMT Music Awards.
