Matthew McConaughey Revives His ‘How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days’ Character in New Pantalones Video with Wife Camila

Matthew McConaughey and wife Camila Alves McConaughey are turning back time to 2003!

For their latest Pantalones Organic Tequila ad, unveiled Nov. 19, the longtime couple recreated the movie poster for one of McConaughey’s most beloved films, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days — with a pantless twist, of course.

The new ad sees Camila, 41, channel Kate Hudson’s leading lady, magazine writer Andie Anderson, while McConaughey, 55, steps back into the shoes of suave advertising executive Ben Barry like he never left them. A behind-the-scenes video shared with PEOPLE shows the couple getting into character.

The couple poses back to back, just as Hudson, 45, and McConaughey did on the original poster 21 years ago. They also got the costumes down, with Camila donning Andie’s iconic silky yellow gown — one of the most famous rom-com looks of all time — just a day after she rocked the custom Carolina Herrera number for NewBeauty en Español.

The Interstellar actor, meanwhile, stepped into a nearly suit, only this time he left his pants at home, continuing the couple’s streak of going pantless for their joint tequila brand, which they first launched last October.

Along with the nostalgic ad, Pantalones is also debuting several — 10, to be exact — speciality cocktail recipes inspired by How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days and some of its most iconic lines and moments.

Among the recipes are the “Yellow Dress” and the “You’re So Vain,” a nod to the Carly Simon hit that Andie purposefully butchers while serenading Ben, singing, “and all the girls dreamed that they’d be Ben’s partner.”

Also on the list are the “Love Fern Margarita,” inspired by the plant Andie buys for Ben to symbolize their love, and a cocktail named after her saccharine nickname she gives the leading man, “Benny BooBoo.”

The McConaugheys’ pantless spin on the iconic movie poster comes less than a month after the actor’s on-screen flame, Hudson, recreated a different moment from the endlessly quotable rom-com.

In How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, magazine writer Andie (Hudson) picks Ben (McConaughey) as the subject of her latest article, a story about how to drive a man away in — as the title suggests — 10 days. Ben, meanwhile, works an angle of his own, attempting to prove that he can make any woman fall for him in 10 days.

In a TikTok posted Oct. 31, Hudson drew over 3 million likes recreating one of the film’s most iconic scenes, which sees Andie purposefully annoying Ben by asking him to get her a drink in the middle of a tense basketball game.
