Suki Waterhouse is hitting back at the haters who questioned her decision to perform in concert shortly after she gave birth.

Waterhouse performed at the 2024 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in California in April, shortly after she revealed on Instagram that she had welcomed her first child with Robert Pattinson. The decision to go onstage and perform after giving birth just six weeks earlier led some to criticize the move.

“Every mum’s morality is in question so much, not just from yourself, but from society,” Waterhouse told British Vogue. “Everyone’s projecting something onto you. That’s an insane thing.”

The “Daisy Jones & The Six” star, 32, said even she wasn’t sure she could pull off playing a show.

“Like, honestly, of course (I was thinking): ‘Holy s—, how is this going to work, is this even going to be possible?’”

“You just have to go, ‘This is what we’re doing, this is what we’re about and f— what anyone else thinks,’” she added.

Waterhouse seemingly revealed during her set at Coachella that she and Pattinson, who have been linked since 2018 and made their red carpet debut in 2022, had welcomed a baby girl.

“I don’t know if some of you know, but I had some big life changes happen recently, some pretty big events have been going down,” she said.

“I love amazing ladies and I’ve been very lucky to have my own little amazing lady and meet the love of my life.”

That announcement came after Waterhouse shared the first photo of the baby on Instagram on April 4.

“Welcome to the world angel,” she captioned the picture of her holding her child in her arms, adding a heart emoji at the end.
