The 2024 Emmy Awards, set to honor the best of the best in television, have begun.
This year’s competition sees familiar award season favorite “The Bear” lead the comedy field with 23 nominations for its second season, which premiered in June 2023.
On the drama side, newcomer “Shōgun,” based on a 1975 novel, received 25 nominations, including outstanding drama series.
Several Emmys were already doled out at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremonies Sept. 7 and 8, including outstanding game show host for Pat Sajak and outstanding animated program for “Blue Eye Samurai.”
