Re: Drug-impaired driving more common since 2018 legalization: Federal government, online, June 17

It does not take a member of Mensa to figure out that if you legalize cannabis you certainly will add more drug-impaired drivers to the highways. That was exactly what happened in Colorado and Washington states when cannabis was legalized there. Road deaths escalated after legalization in those states.

Since Trudeau legalized cannabis, for votes and a new revenue source, the number of young Canadians using this drug has skyrocketed. Obviously many of these individuals also drive vehicles.

Ironical and foolishly, Trudeau claimed legalization of cannabis was the best way to protect young people by curbing black market sales. That belief proved completely bogus as black market cannabis sales drastically increased after legalization.

OTTAWA

I CAN SEE CLEARLY NOW …

So Ottawa might go to clear garbage bags in the future?

Reminiscent of that old song by Johnny Nash, “I can see clearly now … ”

As sung by off-key city councillors:

I can see clearly now, that black is gone

I can see all objects in your trash

Gone are the dark colours that had me blind

It’s gonna be a clear bright accusatory day!

Come on now people, just collect and burn the stuff.

DEEPLY WORRIED FOR CANADA

I love this country, but I am deeply worried about its direction.

Being an immigrant, I used to be proud of our inclusion and acceptance of all and sundry.

When I applied for immigration, I was subjected to a plethora of conditions and swore an oath to live the Canadian way. But what is that now? I pay taxes to support those who can work but do not want to. I pay more taxes to support Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s reckless spending on programs that are not only wasteful but also useless.

There seems to be no end to the arrogance and ignorance of our Liberal government. When all is said and done, its plump pensions and trust funds will support it very nicely, whilst we, the victims, will suffer forever.

Mr. Trudeau, please just stop this vain insanity.
