COP29 A COP-OUT

COP29 is a cop-out. Hello, wokie COPies!

Enviro hypocrisy is the entire agenda at the current COP29. COP is the acronym for Conference Of Parties and this is the 29th party.

Participants flew to Azerbaijan on jet aircraft. Whatever happened to Zooming online rather than on board planes?

Taxpayers are compelled to fund attendees’ freebie transport and accommodation.

The economy of Azerbaijan, where the conference is taking place, is almost entirely oil and gas export-based.

“Poor” countries do not need “rich” countries’ welfare bucks. They need trade.

And COP29 needs a Change-Of-Plan in the Corridors-Of-Power.

Their credibility sucks.

COP29 has become a natural gas blow hole.

BTW, that’s former and future president Donald Trump scowling over your shoulders.

OH, DANNY BOY …

Re: Outrage over Sir Robert Borden High School playing of peace for Gaza song at Remembrance Day ceremony, online, Nov. 12

I have a message for Aaron Hobbs, principal of Sir Robert Borden High School.

My father and father-in-law served in the Second World War, and I can tell Hobbs right now, there weren’t a lot of Canadian soldiers speaking Arabic. There weren’t. I’m betting the same goes for Canadians who fought in the First World War. And, just in case the principal doesn’t know, Canada has two official languages and neither one of them is Arabic.

So, rather than going down the diversity and inclusion rabbit hole on Remembrance Day, of all days, with a song sung in Arabic, the song that could have been played, and many Canadians know the lyrics to it or could at the very least hum along, is Danny Boy.

NEXT UP AT SIR ROBERT BORDEN …

So, those at the Sir Robert Borden High School decided to play an Arabic song during its Remembrance Day ceremony. What’s next, the singing of “Oh, Gaza, our home and native land”?
