Re: Deachman: Ottawa’s traffic flex posts drive us nuts. But they work, Bruce Deachman column, online, Oct. 8
I was one of a number of unfortunate drivers who found themselves in a situation where they had to run over one of these flex posts. I had to make a last-minute decision to either hit a cyclist who cut in front of me or swerve and run over the flex post.
A $578 bill later to repair my scratched front bumper, I started noticing the amount of these posts that show they’ve been impacted multiple times.
I wonder if silly councillors have taken this into account.

DIVERSITY HOGWASH
Re: EDITORIAL: The death of diversity is our strength, online, Oct. 9
Huge kudos for speaking the truth that Justin Trudeau’s belief that diversity is our strength is total hogwash. Trudeau blindly pushing DEI has led to the most divided country ever, the weakest government cabinet ever, reverse discrimination and massive hiring problems in the military and RCMP.

When actual ability and qualifications are replaced by having to check off diversity boxes, it leads to mediocre performance.
Let’s hope that if Pierre Poilievre ever forms a government, adherence to DEI, the WEF and climate change hysteria will quickly disappear.

THE GALL OF JOLY
Re: Joly playing all the angles; Clutching at pearls as she lashes out at Poilievre, Brian Lilley column, Oct. 10
The sheer gall of Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly accusing the Conservative leader of playing politics over the Israel conflict when she herself had said to Thomas Mulcair, about Israel committing genocide, “Have you seen the demographics in my riding?”
Her willingness to sell out our longtime ally Israel to curry favour with her Arab supporters in her riding is beyond despicable.
