ON THE MOVE … TO HELP ENVIRONMENT

Re: Canada’s ambassador for climate change racks up travel expenses, online, July 8

It is quite humorous how Justin Trudeau and his environmental cronies tackle climate change issues. The drama teacher is constantly on a plane criss-crossing the country on a government jet. There is the environmental minister constantly travelling in the same manner while at the same time doling out money for environmental projects.

Now it has been revealed that Canada’s ambassador for climate change, Catherine Stewart, is flying around the world under the guise of environmental work, charging taxpayers $254,000 in travel expenses in less than two years.

After all that travelling, whether necessary or not, one would presume a report of some sort would be available to ease the taxpayer’s mind that it was necessary.

My goodness, what am I thinking, this is the Liberal government that does not answer to taxpayers, and sadly nothing is done about it.

Remember how Canadians howled over a $16 orange juice? Quite laughable now, isn’t it?

AN AFFRONT TO DEMOCRACY

Re: Liberal-NDP deal bad for democracy, editorial, July 9

Kudos for saying what the majority of Canadians likely agree with. Democracy was described by Abe Lincoln as “a government of the people, by the people and for the people.” Unfortunately, by power-hungry elites Trudeau-Singh forming their self-serving socialist coalition, they usurped democracy for their own personal gain.

Their primary objective was allowing Trudeau to continue to be leader until 2025, and for his support Singh would get his long-held priorities of extremely costly dental and pharmacare plans. This undemocratic union gave both what they wanted, with Canadian democracy the big loser.

Canadian voters never would willingly have even given the Singh NDP such a costly mandate. The Singh NDP only won 25 seats and under 18 per cent of the popular vote last election. Therefore, Singh got what he wanted by ignoring the will of voters. For that reason, next election voters need to show their disdain by punishing both Trudeau and Singh.

Let’s hope we never see our democracy trampled upon like this ever again.
